Royal College of Art graduate Erik de Laurens developed a new material called Fish Plastic made of 100% leftover fish scales. The material is made through heat and pressure and involves no chemical binders or added materials. For his project, Laurens made glasses, goggles, and beakers, as well as an in-layed pattern in a wooden table top. Dyes can be added to color the fishscales.
